1. duty表示“职责”时,是可数名词; 表示“义务”时,是不可数名词。作“税”解时,是可数名词,且常用于复数形式。

这两个词都指“义务”, duty多指“永远的义务”,如duty to one's country; obligation指临时性或一次性的义务,如obligation to wipe the car。
