这些词均有“偶然的,意外的”之意,其区别是：

accidental强调超出一般规律和常情; fortuitous 强调原因不明; casual 强调无意或无预谋,指人、行动、衣着时,常侧重随随便便或漠不关心; incidental 可指无计划的或不规则的。仅仅表示偶然发生的或非主要的、非真实的; adventitious 可与incidental 换用,但较为正式,侧重两者缺乏至关重要的联系,强调意外的收获或巧遇; 而contingent 强调事情发生的可能性和结果的不可预测性。

这些形容词均有“非正式的、非正规的”之意。

irregular指不按常规、固定模式或计划做事；或指不隶属于任何机构或组织。

casual指不太注意场合，仪表等，随意性强。

informal指语言、穿着等随便，也指不举行任何形式或仪式的活动。

这两个形容词均含“随便的，任意的”之意。

random指无明确的方向或目的、方法与系统，暗示没有指挥或控制。
