1. association的基本意思是“协会,社团”,指会员较多且具有共同兴趣和宗旨的比较正式的组织,对其成员的要求和活动内容都比较宽。association在句中用作主语时,其谓语动词的数视其着眼点不同可使用单数形式或复数形式。
2. association也可作“联合,结合,交往”解,后常接with引导的短语；association引申可作“联想”解，还可作“因果关系”解。

club，association，institute，league，union，society

这些名词均有“社团，会社，协会”之意。

club表俱乐部或会社，其成员因志同道合，有共同兴趣、爱好而组织到一起进行社交、娱乐或体育等活动。
